My 78 Grand Lemans & 81 Lemans

very sweet rides i had a 79 grand lemans 2dr bought for 30.00 had a olds 330 cid red w/ white vynal half top white interior and i had a 81 grand lemans 2dr ( identical to yours) that a guy gave me but wanted the engine and trans out of it so i dropped my 350 chevy into it and added factory guages,buckets,console and tilt column ,true dual exhaust (i miss that car) been wanting to try and locate my car again,lol
damn people :x all these people liking the 81 lemans front end and no one wants to buy one complete and in excellent cond for there malibu coupe or wagon,el camino?!!! oh well i offered. 😀
Hey man, what a great looking pair of pontiacs. I have an 81 lemans myself same as yours with a 229 v6. The original gear ration should be a 2.41. At least that what mine had when I got it with 36000kms. I realize the post dates from 2 years but do you still have them?
Love your cars, I am new to the forum and will get some pic's of my 81 Lemans gt up soon. I have yet to see another one quite like it. I believe it was only in Canada as it comes with black and gold trim with gold maple leafs on each side, still doing research on it. However did you manage to find 2 Lemans cars, really tough to find them up here in any decent shape.
Hey dsaundry, welcome here with the rest of us gbody crazies and a fellow canadian to boot. I remember seing a couple of those lemans around here over the years, one was black and gold like yours and I tried to by a red and white one about 10 years ago but the guy didn't want to sell. Don57, ya the licence plate location kinda sucks but here in Ontario you have to run them 🙁
Longroof79, yep the yellow car is a Fiat Topolino owned by a friend.

To be honest the '81 Lemans hasnt left storage since I purchased it. Last year I actually purchased new historic plates for it seeing how it turned 30 years old. It was all insured, licenced and ready to go........still never took it out of storage 🙁 Kinda been thinking I should send it to a new home but I dont really wanna. So for now it will continue to live in storage.
I did though drive my '78 a fair bit this summer, it was also in storage about the same length of time as the '81 but it was lucky enough to come out. Gave it some fresh oil, clay bar & wax, shampood interior, replaced some trim piece's and put a few km's on it. But now because winter is coming its back in storage again sitting beside the '81 LOL
