You'll prolly want a coarse element before the pump, like a 100 micron, no paper. Then after you can run a regular inline filter.

Is there a part number for this type filter?

Just got done reading this whole thread. I've always been a fan of the 78-80 cars, especially the Regals since I had an '80. Looks like yours is coming along nicely.

Are you planning on making a vid of you actually running the car? i wouldn't mind seeing how that 430 does in a g-body. Can you give anymore detail about how you made the 231 mounts work too?

I have videos up of it running. One before the cam swap and another after cam swap. No tire mashes after doing the cam swap though yet.

For the mounts it was alot of trial and error. I wanted the motor to sit in the same position as the old Chevrolet 305. After getting it leveled and everything lined up I marked an outline on the 231 mounts with whiteout. After that I took the mounts and pads to school to get welded and reinforced. The whiteout outline was for that purpose, so when it got welded they would know how to position it so it would sit right in the car. After welding the mount and pad was one whole unit that I bolted up to the motor and then welded the pad to the frame. So if the motor was ever removed you would still have the mount and pad in the car instead of just the pad.

Here's a link to Summit that has a bunch of them.

Thanks. I meant something that I could get from the corner parts store. Like from a camaro, vette, etc. Just trying to keep it simple so if I ever need to replace it.

Ah, none that I know of. Those filters will all be for normal filtration. You want something that will keep stuff out of the pump, but nothing that will be so fine as to possibly impeed the flow of fuel to the pump.
