and I'm finally going to get the motor and trans back in tomorrow morning so I'll take some more pics then

Wow you doing it big homie....nice!!! keep posting those pics...

heres a couple pics of what i did the weekend of the fourth. I really didnt do much this past weekend cause it was my ladys bday so i spent it, and all my money with her, but at least shes 21 now so she can buy me beer

Got my 7qt oil pan painted up in a nice silver and go the felpro gasket on it ready to install.

and heres the motor finally goin in after wht seems like forever.

DAmn it was a b**ch getting it in i barely had enough room for it to clear with the oil pan on, but i didnt want to risk damging the oil pump or windage tray. It probably would have been easier with a load leveler but I didnt have one. and then once i got it in i realized i put the top clamshells on on the wrong side so i had to lift the motor to switch them, but i got it in sittin pretty

Also picked up a holley 600cfm carb, all i need now are plugs, wires, fluids and filters, air filter, and all the senders to make my gauges work but most importantly all the money to buy that crap lol.

I also started going thru the wiring tryin to fix what the P.o f'ed up.

damn its coming along dope bro! keep it up and just keep the pics going. im keeping up with this build, i know its gonna turn out sick.

Its been a awhile but i've gotten a lot done. Finally got all the parts I needed, its hard chasing parts around locally when no one knows wth your asking for. :blam:
I finally got my break in oil Brad Penn 30W I ordered and I'm soaking the lifters and timing chain.I plan to fire the new motor up this weekend if all goes well.

Good Job. Keep them pics coming. You going to use Headers or the stock manifold. If so what type. Cant wait to see the rest of the car. Are you going to fiberglass the hole in your a/c box or replace it. I modified one years ago with the glass to make room for the taller valve covers that I was using at the time. Once again, Great Job. :lightsab:

Thanks man.. I will be using headers they are Hookerhttp://www.summitracing.com/parts/HOK-2451-1HKR/ but instructions say not to break in motor with them on because it will cause discoloration if the motor runs rich or lean. So I will be using stock manifolds and exhaust while i break in and tune the motor and save up to run true duals to the back. For the Ac box i just painted it crudely since the hole is towards the bottom and you cannot really see it with the manifolds on. I will be repairing it with glass once I get the headers on and see what kind of clearence im working with. The stock manifolds with the air tubes barely had any room so I;m pretty sure I would have to make a modification if I just replace it.

whats up guys, Been a while since the last update but I've gotten alot done. Im moving at the end of the month to my own place for the first time so I've been busy packing and sh*t. I'll be glad once I have my own space an garage lol a couple more days to go...

But motor is finally back together after a long time, I got it up and running, and broke in the cam. It didnt have the smoothest start up (water pump leak, crossed wires, etc  ) but for my first time doing all of this, and all by myself I think I did alright.

I also finally installed my jeep steering shaft, I had to notch a little metal off of the steering shaft in order for the jeep bolts to fit thru and be able to tighten.

Notched with dremel to clear room for bolt

And then was able to tighten bolt down

Other side just slides in, looks much cleaner, and no rag joint to deal with

Shots of motor finally up and running, its a little dusty

Looks a little better than this:

I still have a little odds and ends to deal with, I need new vacuum lines, a geometry corrector for the tv cable and exhaust system installed and it should be good to go

What do you guys think?

Anyone near LB know a good/cheap exhaust shop?
