Looks pretty clean and I haven't seen too many with black interiors, mine was burgundy/burgundy.
Luckily there are also bumpers fillers available for your car.

What would you say is the most glaring issue chassis/suspension-wise, the biggest bang for your buck mod you could make to improve handling?

I would start with replacing the body bushings and then all the suspension bushings. All those bushings have past their lifespan years ago

This gold one is my 4th one so far i own 2 right now one being my parts car they are very cool cars and becoming hard to find hold on to that 78 it looks good .

Good advice, the bushings I can see at the core support are toast.

yeah you for sure dont want to have a issue with bushings ive learned one part at a time your lucky that your not dealing with a down motor you have minor issues you got a good one
