My new 78 Grand Am 4 door

Drove the old girl home tonight. Runs ok, brakes are good...
Steering column tilt is tight but is missing some bearings around the steering wheel shaft.
Rubber fuel lines are leaking near the sending unit, so I'll change them out first thing.
I wasnt really looking for a Winter project this year...
The engine will stay put, but I do have extra fender, Grand Prix and jounce bars and 36 mm swaybars, 15" rally II's, laying around. Still thinking about adding the buckets and console. That would really clean up some garage space.

I think u should put the buckets & console in there. They look to be in nice shape. Is that seat material grand am only? I've never ran across any with that kind of material.

Yes,301 4 barrel car.
I'm leaning towards the buckets but, then I'd really want to install new carpet.
It does need a new column and a dash pad too.
I may hold off until next spring on those since I have all the parts I need back in Iowa.

Nope! I had a '78 Grand Lemans with it too.

I liked my 4 door. In retrospect, I wouldn't have gotten the rear windows tinted. We're talking almost 10 years ago though.

I remember talking to you about your Grand Lemans ~10 years ago. That was before you bought the Rally II's.
I think you had to work on it out in the street and the city didnt care for that much...

Yep! That was me. That was one solid car too. No rattles at all, everything worked and it ran great. I just cleaned it up, added the Rally II's, Jegs crossmember, duals, replaced the front bumper trim and drove the hell out of it.

Well anyway....I didn't mean to hi-jack your thread Kent!

I think your GA would look good with 15x8 Rally II's, silver or maroon, stock or slightly lower stance. The one thing I remember about my car is that I had a hell of a time trying to sell it. I know you've been around awhile and I'm probably preaching to the choir, but I've never had good luck getting any decent money out of 4 doors in the end. Unless it's a car I really, really like; they haven't been good candidates to drop a ton of money into.
