He used to laugh and say "I useta could hardly spel en-gi-neer, now i r one" He invented the bounce fabric sheet as well as many other things for P&G. Made that company millions but decided to not stick around for the gold watch. Unfortunately cancer took him early and quickly. Think I will pop me a beer tonight and toast one to "Buddy."
As contradictory as it may sound coming from a conservative, this is my take on big business. Put no faith in any job or company. Almost all of them will use you and abuse you until they have taken all you have to give, then they will just throw you away and replace you with another cog to feed their corporate machine. Do I support their right to exist and do business? Yes. I just don't believe in letting myself be used my whole life to fulfill someone else's dreams. Most people will spend all their time working to support their things, and will spend themselves right up to the limit of what they can afford. This becomes their doom. At some point the things you own begin to own you. You no longer are working to have a better life, but rather to sustain the life you have. That is why you should always live beneath your means and save the overage. There is no law that says that just because you can afford a mansion you have to own and live in the biggest one you can buy. That is just being broke at a higher income level. No, instead, figure out the minimum you need to be happy and save the rest. In the long run, you will be happier because money and bills will cease to concern you since you have a surplus. If you have enough money, your money will serve you by paying an income off of wise investments. At that point, your boss no longer owns you and you control the situation instead. After all, the single biggest hammer any employer has over his employees is their need for income. Take away that need and the employee is in control.
