Put a plug on that bowl vent or hook it to the return line to the tank. It will keep the dirt out of the float bowl. and keep gas from evaporating into the air we all have to breathe. Otherwise you have done a great job. Keep it up Nice car. 😀

what headers did u end up using??

flowtech headers, uh not sure bout part number from summit, but just look for headers for a regal and only one pair of flowtechs should pop up, actually 2, one is ceramic. they come with gaskets, bolts, collectors and etc. great headers sound nice 🙂

awesome dude nothing wrong with keeping it stock my cutlass still has the stock 307 and thats what i plan on using if it doesnt give out on me am just planning stuff for the future cuz i would like to do an exhaust set up just like urs these are the headers i would like to use cuz they're affordable flowtech part 11152flt http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BIG-11152FLT/. i think they might be the ones ur using. and also want to do dual exhaust .

i got a couple questions did u have any issues with the clearance for the headers and all
and did u remove ur smog pump. does it run good even after that and what else did u need to remove that came together with the smog pump ? thanks

had a shop down the street from my house do em, $400 total with some nice 3" chrome tips included. funny story bout that lol. i actually drove from my house to the shop which is a good 6-8 miles away with no hood, no air filter, no exhaust (duh), and no license plate...which i didnt realize till we got there...oh and no seat belts lmfao. so im loud, un-safe, and got my entire engine exposed. best car ride ever lol. guess the cops were hiding that day haha

that is the exact kit i used, and honestly this was a clean install if you check the pics. nothing in the bay but frame to mount on. and no smog pump, egr lines, vaccum hoses etc etc etc. all was removed. INCLUDING the entire computer system. it is just pure motor, transmission, and dual exhaust. like every car should be. with a nice non com controlled distrib/carb.

and when i first purchased the car i just cut that belt off the pump/pulley, u dont need that crap lol. as for removing the pump im pretty sure i had to take the compressor off cuz the smog pump brackets are connected to some compressor bolts that hold the compressor to the bracket, 2 bolts. once the bracket and pump is gone...and you cut the belt. there is nothing else to remove with that.

and as for putting the headers in i believe i had to disengage the steering arm/linkage which was just 2 bolts and few bumps with a mallet and take it out completely. then shove the header in (removing the steering arm gives you room to move the headers around for the next step), now you have to install your starter wires/mount the starter..with heat shield if you want...which i recommend. once you starter is in place you can proceed to bolt the header up and you should be good.

i had to mod the header (driver side) with 2 things. if you have a 700R4 trans or any transmission of that size, u have to cut the header about 1 inch shorter so it can clear the shift linkage, i had some welding boys at an auto shop i know do it for me. and make sure when the exhaust place is installing the exhaust that you clear the shift linkage, they had to put a dent in the pipe so it would clear, just a slight one tho, heated it up and pressed it in. also drill each hole for the header bolts out so it can bolt up easier (wiggle room) cuz that friggin alt bracket that is held in with a header bolt is a pain in the fu***ing *ss to put in. as for the pass side header, drill the holes out again for wiggle room and remover your oil filter adapter/oil filter. once its in (not bolted, unless you want to) you can put the adapter plate back on the block BUT you have to buy a shorter oil filter i believe mine is the AC Delco PF46 or somethin equivalent to its size.

well that was alot, and anymore ques just ask me or shoot a PM over.
