I would like to think so. But to stay at constant speed the rpms r so high I back off the gas. I don't want I do any damage if that is possible running that high

Ok. Took for spin. Not hitting 3rd gear. Rpms idle at1250, but when I accelerate the go to about 4000-5000 rpm to change gear and consistently stays at 4k with foot on gas.

What's the deal with limp mode? Could this be anything to do with it? Just throwing that out there.

Your transmission has a control cable hooked to the carburetor called a TV cable. It usually has a silver, teardrop shaped cable end that attaches to the carb linkage. (You'll also have the throttle cable and possibly a cruise control cable too.)

Anyway, locate the TV cable and, with the engine off, pull on the cable to see if it is still attached to the transmission on the other end. You should be able to pull it and feel it spring back. If it's disconnected at either end, the transmission should go into a limp mode which may preclude third from working.

i dont think the th200 has a tv cable does it?

EDIT: Brain fart dont pay no attention to me dissregard that guestion lol

I assume you still have reverse? It uses the same clutch pack as third so if reverse is still with you, this is probaly a control issue like a governor problem or stuck shift valve.

Yes I have reverse. Is the high rpms related to the changing of gears or is this all together a different issue?
