you got the same problem with your gas gauge as i do, its been close to E alot lately!

is your oil pressure always that high? Mine dropped to about 20 at idle when I put in the ZZ4 cam, I guess my old cam was a tighter fit. I run the BB oil pump and the pressure use to be too high for me, it's nice now

I have a question...
with my solid cam, if I over-lash my rockers, the valves won't fully close, I'll lose compression, burn the valve seals, and it'll run like crud. And all this can happen under the difference of a few thou...

when lashing hydraulics, say if I turn 1 full turn over zero, as opposed to the usual 1/2 or 3/4 turn... can I run into this open valve scenario? How much over-lash do you need in a hydraulic lifter for the pre-load to keep the valves open?

it depends on what valve springs your running and I think the only accurate way of knowing when the valve begins to open is with a dial indicator on the valve retainer. A hydraulic lifter has about .070" adjusting travel...bottom to top. You don't want to go to the limit in the adjustment because if the valve starts to float if your deep into the adjustment it'll take longer for the valve to recover. The less pressure the faster recovery, that's why on a performance engine it has a little less adjustment than more. Most will use a 1/4 turn after 0 lash on a performance engine
