bad flywheel/flexplate?

Looks like the motor is moving quite a bit in the video? But that could just be because its running rough. I would check motor mounts & torque converter bolts for starters if oil pressure is normal. You should be able to take the trans inspection cover/dust cover off & have someone bump the starter so you can check all the bolts. My torque converter bolts have came loose & it sounded awful.

engine isnt moving, no more than any other engine... and, ready for this one, THERE IS NO FLYWHEEL COVER... yeah i bought the car and it wasnt there, made putting a starter on easy as hell... lol... i bought one, cheap plastic crap, just havent put it on yet, and after i stopped the video i got down n looked and the flywheel looks to be wobbling... ALSO, its ALWAYS made the "flywheel knock" and second always slips, have to barely give it throttle for it to catch second, too much throttle and she slips and revs but does nothing...TRANS FLUID IS CLEAN... I AM TIRED OF DICKING AROUND WITH THIS, so i just bought a new BOWTIE OVERDRIVE transmission...

lots of cars have no cover. I'd take the bolts out for the torque converter and pull it back, then start the engine to see what you hear.

really? driving around with rain/sleet/snow isnt incredibly horrible? plus now, here in Connecticut, there is sand/salt all over the roads... i have NEVER done ANYTHING with a transmission, torque converter, flywheel, etc, so i dont know how much of a sealed system it is...

:bump: thats it? two people have thoughts... LOL... anyways, i am heading to my car in a few... hopefully its something i can fix in the driveway... lol, speaking of driveway fixes, a friend had her car (03 taurus), towed cause she blew a brake hose, and her father told her changing a brake hose is NOT a driveway job... couldnt help but laugh at that, being as i had just replaced the front passenger brake hose on my bu, and bled them on the side of rte 25...

Patience is a virtue...
There's no need to post the same thing in multiple sections of the forum. People will see it when they see it.

Did you actually check the flexplate and torque converter like was suggested to you almost immediately, or did you just glance under the car and give up?

I'd be willing to bet that either your flexplate is cracked, or the torque converter bolts are loose...

Sounds like a flex plate\torque converter to me. You need to unbolt the converter and pull it back like the other poster said, and see if the noise persists. All you need are two 9/16 combination wrenches(I think is 9/16 anyway) and 15 minuets. Even easier since the converter dust cover is missing. IF noise goes away, pull transmission and fix problem. If your trans is a few years old, might be a good idea to put a new front seal in it since its already out.

I would also say possibly a cracked flexplate, I bought a car once that had loose torque convertor bolts because they were too long and bottomed out before getting tight and it sounded more like a rod knock.
