OK, backstory is that Monte Carlo when introduced in 1970 was boasted about as having the longest hood on a Chevrolet ever.

I would guess this guy never looked at a Monte after 1977 until he found this rare "short hood" Monte

I looked at the short hood '79 Monte in Rockwell City a little closer. I guess he figures its $4,000 for the Monte and $21,000 for the "79 SNAZY" plate.

Really enjoying this thread..."rare short hood" is car flipper speak for "plain boring over priced monte how can I jack the price to smokescreen some jamoke"...went to the car club cruise a while back, a guy hands me his "corporate" business card...very impressive...got a car for sale in the corral...card makes you think office and staff, major competitor for GM...all smoke and mirrors...he says " I buy a few cars, fix them a little (significant yes?), then sell them"... with my usual sensitivity and tact I reply..."oh car flipper".. sets him to stuttering and stammering...massive denial...to which I reply again..." oh, you buy a few cars, fix them a little, and sell them...you're a car flipper"... exit stage left...corporate card with flash means cheap greedy "'$#%&& car flipper at home by himself with a fax machine, and a " who can I shaft on this rust bucket "attitude... gotta love it...

I don't think the $25K Monte is a car flipper. They may have bought it for cheap and think they can make a bunch of money on it, but a car flipper wouldn't think a '79 Monte is worth $25K.

The better description of this guy is an "idiot".

Rockwell city is not far from me. Maybe I should go look at it just for fun. The 80 Monte for 5000 I text him. Yep it was my car. He hated the yellow paint and lifted it. So that car is hunk under the shiny sh*t. Buyer be where!

Well UNGN I guess its about spelling...I spell car flipper as "idiot" pretty often...there's a guy on CL chicago just posted. Caddy dts " his grandpas pride and joy"... got me in tears with his schpiel...northstar POS...worth a few grand at best...asking $17 k...you say tomato... I say car flipper...
