I just looked at that video, left a comment too. Install your your starter shim correctly, could be the reason it's binding. It's not likely, but it IS possible and it's free to check it as well. Hope this helps and hope ya figure it out soon. I wish I was alot closer so I could help ya out.

Here is his video from youtube:

Thank you so much for this, I thought they were on wrong I never put on a shim and never seen any good pictures so just did best off hand.

The shims actually go between the starter and the block. Start with one and add as you need them if you need them.

haha I feel really dumb, But thanks a bunch honestly.

Wow, a guy who came over for a few days looking to buy, we thought he wasn't going to come back today.
He came back with a tow truck and 1150 and took the car.
I am sorry about this post now, I just honestly didn't think he was going to come back.
He was persistent for the past 3 days and actually wanted it.
So hes taking it to the shop right now to get everything done and even the body work and painting it.
I am happy it went to a person who will love it and not just tear it apart, he was very excited about buying it really smiling and just very happy.
I told him everything you all told me, but he said his mechanic will find and fix everything.
But I greatly appreciate everything and everyone on this site.
Really good guys all of you, and especially the few who really have helped me and stuck with every post I have made.
But I got back what I put into the engine and my wife and I are very happy with it, now were on the hunt for a small 4 door car or a minivan, lol.

Finally it is gone. Forget you ever owned the disaster. Live life, save some cash up down the road and try again but for now get all your ducks in a row. Good luck with everything David.

Yes I know, But some tears came to my eyes when I saw her leaving.
But was happy to see it finally gone.
Yeah that's what I am doing just going to see down the road where life takes me and own another cutlass, but of course in better shape with virtually no work needed and if so very minor (cheap) stuff.
Yeah just going to look for a little 4 door gas saver, or a little minivan.
I really wanted to personally thank yo for everything, being there for me and always helping me through all of my problems.
Thanks sincerely.

good luck on your find. ik that car caused alot of trouble. we'll miss ya on the forum. hope u have better luck next time if u ever want another g body.

David,
I'm sorry that your experiences with this car were so painful, but frankly I'm glad to learn that you sold the car and you can move forward again.

Now you can follow everybody's solid advice and find a dependable car for your family.

When times are better, you'll be able to look for another "toy" car, but remember to keep the priorities straight!
Enjoy your little one; they grow up REALLY fast.
