I have an 84 Cutlass with an automatic TH 350 in her and I am wanting to put a new shifter in. I want to go with B&M but I don't know which ones will 'fit' and which ones won't. I was wondering if anyone had any experience with these shifters and which ones you used. I'm leaning toward the Unimatic one they have but let me know what you guys think. Oh, I don't want to spend $400 for a damn shifter. 🙂

Depending on how much work you want to put into it, ANY shifter will fit. Any aftermarket shifter will require at least some cutting and/or fab work. Are you looking for one that will fit nicely in a Cutlass with console? If so, I saw a writup on it somewhere with a Quicksilver so I know it can be done and look nice.
I had a Quicksilver back in the day in a Cutlass with the split bench 'pillow' seats and because of it's size and where it was mounted, it wouldn't allow the passenger side seat to move very far up.
I have used 3 different B&M shifters. The Z Gate, Sport shifter, and the Megashifter I have now. I havent liked any of them. They just feel cheap to me and not something you can bang around with. Im replacing my Megashifter with a Hurst so hopefully im done changing shifters
Order a catalog from Jegs, Summit, and Northern. Go to the Shifter section and you will see all the shifters for your trans. I also have an 84 with 3 Speed 350. I also am in the market for a shifter. I will be purchasing a shifter that will work with both 350 and 700r4 since I plan on changing the trans in the future. I just so happened to see a B&M Shifter in Pep boys today for $130.00 that will work. Pep Boys also sells the diffent handle grips that can be inter-changed. Good luck and please post pics when you buy and install the shifter.
