I have an 81 caballero and the oil pressure , temp, and gas gauge don't work.
The previous owner put in a 327 and some after market pressure and temp gauges under the dash that work but I want to be able to use the factory ones so I was wondering if anyone knew how to fix them. The oil pressure always reads as high as it goes. The gas gauge is always way past full. The temp gauge is always at the lowest point. Also does anyone know how to fix the clock?

Are they mechanical gauges, the ones under the dash? As far as I know, the factory dash gauges used electrical sensors on the motor.

They are electrical sensors if they were not cut off you should be able to hook them back up. Just make sure the oil gauge is the canister type sensor and the coolant sensor the proper one for gauges. Because many also came with dummy lights that used a different sensor type. I cant help you with the gas gauge.
The clock you will need to send out for a quartz conversion. Or they can send you the kit and if your up to it convert it yourself:

This is the mechanical pressure sending unit behind the distributor does the electric sending unit go to the same place?

Yes, the sending unit can go there. Make sure when you get a sender that it is for gauges and not the idiot lights.

Get a temp sensor too for gauges. For the tank check the ground and make sure the connections are hooked up by the tank and sender.

You can get the oil and temp senders at your local parts store.
