I have 84 Regal and whenever it rains, water leaks into the passenger floor. My only thought would be the gap between the windshield and hood is where the water is coming in where the windshield wipers are (not sure what this area is called) Any suggestions of what the problem is and what needs to be fixed?

Lots of leak spots on Gbodies. Start by removing the reveal molding around the glass. Then wash the crud out with soapy water. Now put a shop-vac on reverse and blow it against the inside glass. Bubbles will show the leaks. If no leaks consider yourself blessed, but then you start looking at all firewall openings like the blower box and steering column seals.

most all the g-bodys will leak there eventually, ive had water come through the firewall where the ac heater plate is too...

Well I took a bucket of water and ran the water down my windshield. The water drained down the bottom of my car like its supposed to and no water got inside the car. So i guess the "windshield cowl" (if that's what you call the space between your windshield and hood of the car where the wipers are) is fine. Where can I get access to the firewall? From inside or outside the car through the engine bay? My uncle said it might be my heating core? It only leaks water when it rains. And this is what's really weird. At my work where I park it's on a hill where the car is slanted towards the driver side. When its parked like that, less water gets in the passenger side floor board since the car is slanted. If the car is level, a lot of water gets in. It ONLY leaks on the passenger side.

im definately leaning towards the heater ac plate as the culprit, pull your passenger inner fender skirt and check the bolts that hold the heatac assembly to the firewall. you might be able to get away with right stuffing the seam up if its leaking, good luck

My AC/heater box was leaking onto the pass side floor. I opened the cover and found mud clogging the water drains (there are 2) Cleaned them out and still had a small leak. It drove me crazy. We found it by yanking the seat out and having one guy lay down with his head up under the dash with a flashlight while I ran a hose around the seams. It was leaking on the far right side, by the fender, the heater box seal. You couldn't see anything wrong but when I ran my finger along the seal, the leak stopped. I just smeared some sealer along the seam and it has been fine.
