750 double pumper is a little much for a 305, I had a mild 350 and only had a 650cfm carb on it. It would check the timing then tune or swap out that carb jmo.
A little much? That carb is bigger than the engine  I ran a 650 Holley on my 400 with no problems at all besides the normal Holley issues. It has a 750 Qjet I put on in May of 2010 and it runs fine I havent even had to touch it. I would get a 2000-2200 rpm converter, a nice shift kit, a Qjet and be done with it!onebadasscutlass said:750 double pumper is a little much for a 305,.

I went on holley's website and i did the find your carburetor thing. It came up with 550's and 600'sonebadasscutlass said:I must have missed that. Sorry! I have the same 750 vacuum secondary on my sbc 406. U would be better off with a 550cfm. Would probably make a world of difference. and save you some gas money.
It says the biggest i should go is 650 but here's my next question. I drive it all year round and dont use a choke or anything. Just pump it and keep with it. Do you think i should go with a 600 double pumper or 600 vacuum secondaries? Thanks in advanceonebadasscutlass said:Yeah there is some math to it but I forgot how to do it. I think u would notice a night and day difference
