My coil is arcing. I just replaced the module, the wire harness from module to coil and the cap itself. Every time I start the motor and it turns over, it sounds like a taser. Its coming from the coil red and yellow wire at the top. How do I stop this[/b].

are you sure it is not coming from a plug wire boot near the rear of the cap.

pretty sure u can see the arc jump from red to to yellow back and forth. i thought maybe one of the screws were to long that hold it dowm but replace the cap and screws, so thats where i'm at now.

is the coil new? I would pull the coil dust cap and check the coil wires.could just be a bad coil.

yea replaced it twice, brand new. I'm going to check to see if alternator is putting to much voltage out. seems like an overload possibly.

Check the center of the rotor, they used to be bad about burinng through the rotor and grounding out. Look for a small black spot on the bottom of the rotor.

Did you install the ground strap for the coil ?
