Ok I just bought 2 belts for the power steering and alternator, the ALT belt is squeezing like crazy! Why o why?

What engine do you have?, the Olds 307 with a/c is prone to this problem if the a/c belt is removed. If you have this set up try replacing the a/c belt if it's already off.

Roger.

You could have a weak, or bad alternator. Take it off and have it tested for amp output.

I have the same problem with the belt on my 350 in my 85 Regal, but cant get the tension adjusted to avoid it, Because of this I was actually leaning toward a serpentine setup...

check your tension ,pulley alignment and make sure that the belt properly sits in the pulley groove. might also be a cheep belt. you could also try the old school belt dressing ,not the new belt conditioner for serp belts but the old sticky stuff.
