Hey guys,

Long ago since I posted here the last time.
Now I thought it is time for an update.

I was working really hard on my ´79 Malibu the last month, but now I finally got the registration!
I changed both fenders due to rust, I painted them and welded the front doors and A-pillars.
Also I painted the ds door and I dyed the carpet with black hair color.
It is a hard job to get the whole carpet plain black, but it is looking really great now!
I put in a new steering column, a new steering gear, a new idler arm, new inner and outer tie rods and all ball joints.
Also I exchanged all the control arm bushings, front and rear brakes, the stabilizer bar links and bushings.
After a short test drive, I realized that it was leaking fuel leaking ou tof the gas tank, because of a small crack.
So I had to put another gas tank in.
At least I blacked out the front grill and the head light bezels. I think it´s looking pretty cool.

Here some pics:

This saturday I wanted to go to a Rock ´n´Roll festival / car meet in Styria, about 130mi away.
It is called Rollin Dudes Festival (http://www.rollindudes.com)
It should have been the first longer ride with my Chevy.
A friend of mine with was going with his Camaro and I with my Malibu.
After about 30mi on the Autobahn one of my tires burst. 🙁
Thank god it was right before one Autobahn-exit, so I drove off very, very slowly.
After that we jumped into the Camaro and get me another tire from my ´81 Malibu.

Now I have installed both front tires of the ´81 and painted the wolfrace on the back.
I think it is looking not that bad. I like it somehow.

Hi El,
Nice to see that you got a lot of work done on the car...and you're out enjoying it.
That's a nasty blow out. Glad you weren't hurt.

What are the seats out of? I like them.

The Rollin' Dudes festival looks like a lot of fun.

Hi Jack,
How are you?

I'm really enjoying it.
I think I had really luck that day.
The only thing that got damaged was the tire.

Meanwhile I also like those seats.
They were pulled out of an Citroën XM V6 and they are really comfortable.
At first I wanted to change them to the original bench, but now I think they're great and looking good.

Yeah, I think that this festival is a lot of fun, but sadly I never been there...
I really tried to get there...
Maybe next year. 🙂

So you were on your way to the festival when you got the blowout...or did I misunderstand?
It looks like a lot of cool old American cars show up,,,and I'm sure some cool music as well.

Yeah, those seats look like Recaros. I can't ever see putting a bench seat back in...they're so uncomfortable. I think the last Citroen that I saw was many years ago...I believe it was an SM model with the Maserati V-6. Very unusual car.

Nice to see you back again and enjoying your ride. How's the drive on the Autobahn?

Cool Camaro your friend has.

Yes, you´re right, I was on the way. But I had no spare tire with me, so we had to get one from my other malibu.
After all there we desided not to go to the festival.

As I wrote before, meanwhile I really like those seats. 🙂
The backseat is also from the Citroen XM...I will take some pics from the whole interior If you want to see it.

Yeah...Citroens always are very unusual cars, but somehow I like them.
And I think that Citroen seats are one of the most comfortable ones.

It´s pretty nice to drive on the Autobahn, but sadly we have speed limits.
In Germany are some parts of the Autobahn without speed limit. That´s really nice.
A few years ago I was going 160mph in Germany with my Opel Astra Coupe.

My frind owns this Camaro since 14 years now. He stored it away from the beginnig till October last year.
It was completely stripped down, when he desided to get it back on the road again.
I think he did a good job. 🙂
