I just bought a 1980 Caballero. It's pretty much just a shell, but it's solid, no rust. I picked up a 350 4-bolt truck motor and a THM350 for it, now I'm looking at a 1986 Caballero for parts. I want to use the whole front clip, seat, and some trim pieces from it. Will that work?

Yes, it should swap over w/o much fuss.

Any '78-'87 Caballero & El Camino will work for parts. One note with fenders/header panels, '82 headers will fit all years fenders but '78-'81 header panels won't fit '82 up.

A previous customer mounted an 87 body on 78 frame. No issues with this as far as sheet metal. Only issue was he used serpentine system from 92 Chevy truck, the stock pulley from Power Steering Pump would hit the steering box. We found undersized pulley and resolved it. Every thing else on the body swap was fine.
