Hello everyone, I have just started to look for websites about my 79 cutlass and forums when I come across this site. Other than this site is there any other sites devoted to these cars. I am looking to restore my 79 and am looking for a good place to find new replacement parts and good forums to talk to people about my style car. I've checked goodmark and yearone for parts and they have some but maybe thats all there is out there. I am interested in knowing whether interior out of an 81-87 cutlass will fit in my 79. I have had my car since I was 17 and now I am 35. It has been sitting for a good while. It has been through times were it has sat and then I would put another motor in it for awhile and when that engine expired it would set for awhile again and the process repeated a couple of times. I am in the process of restoring a 66 el camino and when I get done I would like to get started on my 79. I would like to update the interior a bit and suspension as well. I am leaning towards putting in an ls engine or putting in a naturally aspirated turbo engine. Any help on my style of car would be appreciated. If there are other sites dedicated to these cars I would like to know. I will continue to be a member of this site to learn what I can about my car and looking forward to talking to all of those who are members of this site as well. Thanks Roy

First... Welcome to the forum.

The only other sight that I know is Oldspower.com

and for the post part the interiors were the same form '78-'88 Cutlass. There were some small changes here and there, but for the most part, it's all interchangeable.

Welcome!

The only difference in the '81-'87 interior is the piece around the 1/4 window, the rest is interchangeable.

Try browsing around on oldspower.com, realoldspower.com, and maliburacing.com.

There aren't many people making new parts for these cars.
It's still mostly a matter of scoring nice used parts, so keep your eyes on the classifieds of each forum to find what you need.

Thanks guys for the input. I was wondering about the 1/4 glass panels myself. Maybe I can find a newer interior and just die my 1/4 glass panels. I would like to put in a gray interior as it has the factory red bench interior in it now. Did they make calais in the 81-87 cars. I want something that has the rally pack with tack in it, just something a little sportier. I am looking to replace dash and all.

The Calais was offered from '78-'84, and it was renamed the Salon for '85-'87.
That was the package that got you the bucket seats, console, gauges, F41 suspension, etc... All the good stuff.
