Hello everyone, just bought an 87 grand prix cheap. Planning on dropping in an lt1 and six speed as soon as it warms up around here since this will be done outdoors. I am curious if anyone has done this swap or seen it done and can give me some tips or things to think about for this swap. I plan on cruising this car regularly this summer so im trying to gather all the info i can quick.
Right now the car has a nice running 327 i wanna sell for a few hundred bucks. The lt1 is from a buick road master. Its in my buddies third gen now with the six speed. Its all stock except for the headers and exhaust. His car runs great and gets good mialage. here are my questions

1. about how much does this car weigh?
2. will i have issues with starter clearance. (full length headders)
3. what wheel pattern, and can i fit 17=9 inch wheels and 275/40 tires all around?

Based on my current knowledge (which is about average) our cars all weigh roughly 3400 and my two cutlasses show the same amount on the registration. As for the headers the most common type i hear used on G bodies is shorty style because long tube interfere with the steering because its a tight squeeze. as for the tire dimension i've never looked for bigger then 15's how ever my cousin ran 15-10deeps cragars on the back and they were close to rubbing the wheel wells.
