N.E. Ks.
Hello to all. I recently bought an 84 hurst and have been cruising some forums to find one I like and decided to settle here. The car is in pretty good shape but I have some work to do and this looked like a good place to find some answers and hang out with some other folks who love g body stuff. A little about me, I'm a navy vet, grew up farming, and now am an assistant foreman on an asphalt crew in Manhattan, Ks. Anybody that feels like it, hit me up, especially if you live in the N.E. Ks. area. If I don't respond right away, its only because I have limited computer time lol. Looking forward to settling into your community here, seems like a good bunch of folks. Will try to put a few pictures of my new project up tonight.

Here's a few pictures I took for a friend with my phone right when I bought it. I will get a few detailed pictures of things I have to fix when I can. From a distance it look ok, but its had some body work and a low quality repaint. I'm missing the ends to the spoiler and have a rust hole to fix near the t tops, and one in the trunk floor but that's it. I was skeptical at first as to whether it was a real H/O or not, but checked the vin and figured out its for real. I'm also missing the air cleaner lid and the hose for the cold air side of the air cleaner, but all the badges are there and the lightning rods work great too. Sorry to ramble but its been exciting around here for us being that we have all wanted a new project for a while. And the kiddos love the t tops lol.

Nice looking H/O.
I'm in the same boat in that it looks good from 20 feet lol.
We are constantly battling the tin worm here so unfortunately it does have some rust in the wheelwells & small spots in the floor which will have to be addressed at some point. Certainly not as rare as your H/O.
Sounds like you've got the whole family involved in your project. Good or you!

Wow nice Olds. Welcome to the forum. Its cool that you share your project with your family. My best summers where spent with my dad wrenching and wrecking cool cars. It creates good memories. I guess thats why I love old oldsmobiles.

Thanks fellas. I feel the same way about family projects, though oddly enough, my 4 year old daughter is the most enthusiastic about garage time, my son just wants to go out cruising lol. My interest in Olds stuff goes straight to my dad as well, the first fun project we had was his old pea green omega, I thought that was the coolest car ever when I was little.

WELCOME from Nebraska , likin your olds, you could not of pick a better forum to join, i have been in a few and there is NOT one as good and as FRIENDLY as this one by far you made a smart choice:banana:

Thanks guys, i'm pretty much straight north of Wichita clear up here by Nebraska, little town called Westmoreland. Nice to see some more folks from flyover country🙂
