Thanks for letting me join up guys and gals. I am new to the forum here as I just got my first Monte Carlo. Not my first G-Body just first MC. I had a 88 Cutlass about 10 years ago.

This is a new to me MC is a white 1986 LS that a customer had bought to build but ran out of funds and never started it. We gutted the insides and there it sat for months. I bought it last week and am ready to get started. tomorrow i will be meeting with my painter to get the ball rolling.

Right now she has no dash, and just a drivers seat so I have a way to go. The seat is manual and would not mind moving to power if I find the right deal in the next month or so before i have my interior guy start on it. I hope to have the paint and interior done by the end of march. I am thinking of doing it "triple black" with all black paint and all black interior.

The dash it out as it was cracked up some so we will probably build a custom hot rod style dash and door panels.

Any way I just wanted to post and say hello. I will post pics as i have some.

greetings to the land of swamp rats! welcome on board

Welcome aboard!
Triple black sounds nice, but don't you think it will be kinda hot for Florida? It would look nice though.

Since you're in Florida, the likelyhood of finding one in good shape at the junkyard is pretty slim.

I'd keep my eyes on the classifieds for a decent one from up north.
Interior parts up here have a tendancy to not be as sun baked as they do down there.

Ok, so i have not been back to the site in a bit. I have been working and trying to find a way to get this beast going.

Since last post, the direction has changed some as most do. It is now a bordeaux red (05 and up gm factory color), The inside has been treated to about 140 sq foot of dynamat xtreme. THe floor has 24 foot of dynapad and the roof is getting the dynaliner in the next day or so. The carpet is now laid in. Seats are done. Black leather with maroon alcatera suede inserts diamond stitched in. The interior is going back in this next week, save for the dash and doors. Those are still being built. We are using Dolphin gauges for a retro look.

We got the wheels yesterday. I went with 22inch status Knight 5 wheels. The fronts are on but the back hit the frame rail so monday i will be getting with my wheel distributor to work it out. I may have to trim the frame some to get it to fit, i dont want to use wheel spacers.

We have not started on the mechanicals. The motor runs well so that will be down the road. First will be headers and duals i think.

I will try to get pics posted up here soon.
