Hi all. New to the board, building a 78 Cutlass with my son He's 15. It is in the body shop now getting what I hope will be a good paint job!! We chose the white and gold two tone combo. I know they never built a 78 H/O, I had just sold my 72 fake H/O Supreme and of course he loved and wanted that!!! Anyhow we have the 78, here's what I've got so far. 8.5" 10 bolt with 3:42 posi, I had all of the correct clutch pedal stuff from a 78 Monte Carlo and the bucket seats and brackets most of that is installed now. I have a WC T-5 from a V-8 camaro with a 2:95 gear set, and a 403 that will have a halo griddle, older 350 heads 7A's, Performer RPM intake and Cam (this thing ran great in my 72 before I installed the 455!!) Any way the biggest question I have is the "Old school trick" on my 72 was the 1" taller spindles and Global West uppers, I know that I have been out of this for a while and I am hearing alot about the 99-05 Blazer spindles on the G bodies. I have a set of 1" taller spindles with Z-28 1LE Rotors that I was thinking of using with the adjustable uppers but am wondering if the G-Body geometry is better then the old A-Bodies and the 1" taller spindles combo with the shorter uppers is really required! I would also like to look in to the poor man's answer to 4 wheel disc brakes! I just wonder why they had to go with the funky 3 bolt flange on the 8.5!!! Just couldn't leave a good thing well enough alone I guess! We would like to find a 79 Calias H/O header panel  Of course I'd like a million bucks to!!!
