Oldsmobile's Home Town
Hello
I have to say this is one hellava site. Been lurking on here since March and learning that there is a lot of passion and talent on here. A little about myself, I hired in at Oldsmobile Exhibit & Display in 1984. GM closed that Department in 1994. That was the best job in the world. I got to travel the United States setting up Oldsmobiles Displays that we built in house. With that said I have had my hands on and drove and maintained everything from the Curved Dash right on up to the Darth Vader and lastly the Aurora. Oh man I could go on and on of what I've seen and done than them F*****s killed Oldsmobile.
During that time I was young making good money soooo I had quite a collection of 442's a W-30 Couple Cutlass and 98. The 84 Hurst/Olds was my first small block lol. So what happened to them? Don't get married. Currently I work at Lansing Grand River doing paint repair on Cadillac CTS's & ATS's ironicly on the same spot where expermental assembly was. I have a 83 Hurst/Olds with 34,000 miles that's my driver and a 83 Hurst/Olds that I'm in the process of starting a nut & bolt restore and will start a thread as soon as real progress can be made. You guys are going to kill me but I bought a super clean 84 Hurst/Olds that had a Chevy in it (WTF) I was going to restore but decided to make it a doner car after i bought my current project. The simple reason is it has Cars&Concepts T-Tops. And yes they are different. I don't think I would ever find weatherseals for it. Anyways glad to be here.
Steve

Thats when you make the car a nice weather only car. Never have to worry about the weatherseals then. Welcome to the forum.

I love the look of the oldsmobile nascars. I set my pure stock olds up to look like one. It squats over the hoosier pretty good. I also didnt cut mine up like most people do, left it mostly intact, i like the racecar feel better that way

Old fart? Welcome aboard young fella! Some nice cars you have there. "Don't get married" Yup, the downfall of us all.
