Ah, just for the sake of knowing, did you find you had a Two Bolt or Four Bolt Main Block once you dropped the pan??

If the build is north of 450-500hp the two bolt will work just fine. I have been told a dozen ways to tell a 2 bolt from a 4 bolt by just look at the motor. But with out dropping the pan, NONE HAVE WORKED.

i pulled the pan and its a 4 bolt. Sounds like a good starting point. Going to pull all the rest of internals this week. See what the machine man says. Here go some pics. It has 991 heads and i dont want to use them because they are smog heads. A coworker said sum sh*t about using them and making the valve seals tighter or some mod, n just use them but i tuned him out i guess cuz i dont recall what he said to do to some 991 heads

991 casting are from the 307/350 from 1971 and 1972 and its a 76cc chamber. Not my choice for any thing except something like a door stop or boat anchor. After market or vortec to make some power. Bore it, stroke it and cam it. And then enjoy it, be sure to get the right converter to match the combo.
