newest pic i got guys im cleaning the alternator up and power steering pump and bracket up to match the rest. all bolts will be black to accent the rest of it

I see you went with an Edelbrock carb. How come? I've had one. And that was enough!

Motor looks great. I love that classic look! Red/orange, chrome valve covers, and a high rise intake! When I finally get around to building one, it will look very very similar except I like the water pump silver and the timing chain cover black. Looks great! Even better when its sitting in that car huh?

drogg1, your motor looks sharp too!

actually the whole carb thing is still in the air. i just found out i can pick up a really nice rochester 4jet for 150 totally redone.. the other carb was my friends he had at his shop. he is a holley fan. i really dont know what way to go yet. lol
thats really the only thing i have left to decide now

Rule of thumb, Q-jet if its primarily a driver Holley if its primarily a racer. Looks like a driver build to me. Local owner of carberator shop says switch to holley when cam duration exceedes 240@50.

I wouldn't blame the Edelbrock carburetor, I've run my car on the track with a 750 Carter and a 750 Holley Street HP and got the same trap speed with both. I don't know about calibration differences between Carter and Edelbrock, but I found the idle circuit on the Carter much more street friendly than on the Holley.

Great color on the engine!
