Well i'm finally getting around to the rims and tires for my Monte.

I need some help picking out the right combinations though, Does anybody know the stock bolt pattern for an 1988 Monte Carlo SS? I'd imagine that almost all of the G-body's from the same era had the same bolt pattern, am i right or wrong in that assumtion?

So here's what i've got planned, I personally don't like the bigger tires in the back/ smaller in the front so i'm going same size all around.

And for some reason Polished aluminum has a much greater appeal to me than chrome, It's kind've like the Capo chevelle, it didn't need flashy badges to know it was something mean lol.

It's between one of theese three,

16" http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-164-6185P/

17" http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-164-7983P/

Or

16" different style http://www.summitracing.com/parts/SUM-50-6887K/

So what do you guys think? 16"s or 17"s, and which style do you guys think would look nicer on my Monte? I love the classic 8 punched out drag-style hole Rim's, but it seems like every other Muscle car has them now-a-days so i'm alittle more leaning towards the 16" SUM-50-6887K's so i stand out amongst the rest, ya know?

**UPDATE**

Ok so i couldn't resist, what about theese guys?

High gloss blacn and chrome, ****ing sex.

I gotta say, those all look like "Truck wheels" In fact the first two are really popular around here with jeeps. Go to ebay and see whats on there. Enter something like " Monte carlo wheel" and you will come up with lots of selections there. You cant go wrong with american racing torque thrust 2's.... That said, it's your car, go with whatever you think looks best. Good luck!

I personally think the factory rallys look way better than any of those. But if you're gonna pick between them, I say the black and chrome ones. If you still have the factory rallys, use them. 🙂

I vote on the last ones as well, although I agree they tend to look a little like truck wheels but in the end you're the one that will be driving it

I have to say that the last wheels would look great on a g-body. I don't think they even faintly look like drag wheels. I see them as looking like drag car wheels and I like the multi-tonal black and chrome. In-fact I wouldn't mind them on my mont but I have a gunmetal blue paint job. Wouldn't mesh nicely.

I will also concur that you should do what you think looks best. It's your car after all and you'll be looking at them the most.

So it's come down to some new chioces but first, are 8" wide rims to wide for front tires?

And now here are my three chioces,

8/10 front/back width, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-3205834/

8/10 front/back width, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-6 ... mage=large

8/10 front/back width, http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CLL-045804507/

Which ones do you guys think look the best? I'm asking for an opinion because i like them all and can't decide 😛

The only thing i don't like about the Center line's is the price tag, i'll end up spending close to a grand in wheels, And the only thing that scares me about the First set of cragers is, well you get what you pay for, i'm wondering if they're cheap because they're poorly made...

I'd have to go with the second set of Cragars even without considering price. The centerlines are way too flashy. If you're worried about cash though, I have to say the first set of Cragars don't look terrible to me. I'd even put them on my car. However, I cannot comment on the quality of the wheels as I'm not very experienced in that sort of thing.
