New rims, need some advice

If backsapcing is right, you could run 15x8's no problem.
t/a's had 15x8's stock in the late 70's. Run a 225/70 and it'll be fine. Truthfullu, without interference you could probably go 255 in the rear, but I think I'd perfer 225's all around.

OK so i've come to the two final decisions. Blake you where right, 10" rims would have been a problem in the back had i gone with the tires i had picked.

Here's what it comes down too

I'm going with 15X8 all around.

I'm going with either

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-3975834/ 15X8 black quick 8's with low-pro tires

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-3751R/ M/T et radials 225 /50R15
or
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BFG-80224/ BFGoodrich g-force 225 /50R15's

Question: Those are low-profile right? I don't know all my facts on tire/wheel sizes so I'm assuming the second number means tire profile ( 255/"50" R15) The M/T's are definitely worth the extra money, and they look so damn bad *ss.

or (second rim's i choose)

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/CRR-3205834/ Chrome crager quick trick 1's 15X8 with Normal/high profile TA's \

http://www.summitracing.com/parts/MTT-6025/ M/T S/T radials 225 / 70R15
or
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/BFG-67244/ BFGoodrich TA's 225 /70R15

Question: Which of the two is better? I'm guessing they are pretty much the same and i'd just be paying a couple bucks more for the Name going withthe M/T's

And a question for marcar, are the backspacing with those rim's correct, it's 3.74/ 4 " backspacing

Yeah so to sum it up, either Black rims with low-pro stretched tires, or classic chrome with normal/highpro tires(Classic muscle car look)

Another question if you guys don't mind, What kind've back spacing would i need in the back to make the rim's stick out past the wheel wells alittle? And considering i'm using 15X8's in the front what kind've back spacing will i need up front?

I like the second set of wheels and tires best and would go with the BFG tires. I like the muscle car look and the chrome fits a street car better than the black wheels in my opinion. Also, BFG's have a very classic look to them and I run them on my street monte with good performance and aesthetic results.

The first wheel/tire set is more performance geared. First, I would like to point out that you would not want to run those drag radials on your front wheels because there would simply be no point in the tread style and added traction. On the front wheels you would want to run tires more like the ones in the second wheel/tire set.
Additionally, if you are to go the route of low profile drag radial tires, I would suggest the Nitto NT 555 R drag radials

as a viable option. I prefer their tread design, contact pattern, and looks to the M/T et's and BFG's for street/strip performance.

Hmm, would it be BAD to run those tires on the front? And i wouldn't want low-profile tires on the back and not on the front. Like i said i'm still learning up on tire sizes so stick with me 😛

As for the nitro's, i like them, but the only ones i'd be able to afford right now are these
http://www.summitracing.com/parts/NIT-180360/ / NT 555 R, Extreme Drag, 205 /55R14

Would those work all the way around drogg1?

And if not could you look on summit and find me a set of BFG's that will work on the front for the second set of rims, or give me the deminsions i'd need to look for? I'd really appriciate it 😀

Sorry for the double post, to clear up some confusion i posted links to two sets of tires for each rim, not for front/back but for comparison to one another, i planned on running one set of those tires all around.

So for the second set, i was going to run the BFG TA's all around, now the first set is what i need help with. Just clearing that up 😛

Well i went ahead and ordered the Crager black quick 8's, I don't have all the funds yet to order the tires so in about two weeks i'lll be placing the order for them! But before i do i'm going to double check my order with you guys in-case i'm buying the wrong combination of tires or whatnot, thanks for all the help so far guys!

I guess that's a valid point that you'll want matching tires all around. My thoughts were a little skewed in the fact that I plan on buying a pair of Cragar soft 8's and some 15" Nitto NT 555r's just to run now and then for performance. Currently I run some TTII knock offs with BFG radial T/As all around.

They will work though, yes. Another point I just thought of for not running the same tire on front as on back is because those drag radials are EXPENSIVE and wear fairly quickly so I don't think its practical to run them in the front unless you're going for pure looks.

Yeah, i'm most likley going to get the MT 375R's for the rear, i haven't decided which tires to run on the front yet, Most deffinitly NOT the M/T's on the front, i'm thinking about the BFG's though, what would you recommend for the front drogg?
