I received my new Bilstein rear shocks today. Suprise to see the top sleeve is made of plastic. you would think the complete shock would be made of metal for the price you pay. I hope its durable
I guest it save money.🤔

good to know. first time ordering theses shock I've always purchased ac Delco for all my other cars. I called summit racing and this is the part number Bsn 24-009294 they recommended
Those are the ones I have on the rear of my Regal along with matching fronts, excellent ride quality from these

i also may have to buy shocks for front. my car has adjustable coil over on the front, I'm hoping I can adjust them to make the car it ride a little softer. it has a 455 but the car rides like a truck.

Verify it's not riding on the bump-stops. If so, even the best shock doesn't do anything for you.

There aren't any parts store replacements that are comparable to those Bilsteins. IMO they are the best functioning stock replacement shock available. The only better option is a single or double adjustable for 5 times the price of the Bilsteins. If you have alot of drivetime on this, then you'll notice an immediate difference.

Regarding the hard ride in the front, what shock, what spring, what is the installed height of your current shock? When do you hear/feel the bang?

ah sh..t I hope not. I have 235/60/15 on the on the front and theirs at least 1 1/2 to 2 inch of space between the top of tire and fender. I'll have to check it out once the weather changes. the car has coil over because pervious owner had 20 inch wheels on it. thanks for pointing that out.

there is no banging it just ride stiff .as i said the car has coil over on the front and air on back to give it the lift it needed for the tires to clear the wheel well . the pervious owner had big wheels on the car I not a fan 20 or 22 inch which does look good on some g body guess I'm just old school. trying to make some changes so when I do hit a bump are can't avoid that man hole cover are pot hole it will absorb some on the bump and not feel the hard thud. replacing the air shock on back because they leak. I would like to say thanks I appreciate all the feed back I've received from members on over the years on my project its been great help 👍

With C/O's swapped in up front, you'll need to try & figure out the spring rate through the manufacturer or swap back to the original shock-in-spring orientation.
Same for the rear..... Make sure the bags (air-springs) fit the needs for your desired ride height. Cranking up the air pressure to raise it high enough to clear other changes can yield crappy ride quality. Bags have ride-height spec requirements. Below or above those specs can def impact the ride.
