New tires

the "KDW" has become a tuner target brand, with most of their sizes limited to 17s, 18s, 19s wheels. You find your size there. The ones PontiacGP and I have were the last of the muscle breed.

however, there is a "KDWS" which still has some of the traditional sizes. They're used on alot of newer mustangs and other sport cars. I've used these as well... they weren't as great as my KDWs, but still a step above the Radial T/As, Firehawks, Mastercrafts.

I'm always looking for another set for my car to use when these are done...these are the best I have ever used

you're telling me... I'm down to the two on my front
the rears were their old "Comp T/A" tires (also canceled). Which was a slight more budget tire than the KDWs, but still offered great performance. Here's what happened to those...

also... I stand corrected. I just checked on their site, and it looks like the "KDWS" doesn't exist anymore. They now have the "Sports Comp-2".

khan..you say "here's what happened to those" like you have no idea how they got worn like that..

It seems impossible to find a performance white letter tire on traditional sizes, ie 255/60/15 rear 215/65/15 front, hence why I've stuck with firehawks.

I went to 16" wheels because there is nothing available in 15, and now 16 is getting difficult to find tires. Firehawks are good tire and if that's what's available in 15 you like them that's good.... but it would be nice if they stopped with the all season tires and made summer tires with the right compound.

lol I always dig you guys posts. I think that is the same place my pricey M&H drag radials went after the 509 ignited them. I still have a set of the Comp TAs on the front of my GN in good shape. They were the last set in any warehouse/dealership according to their computer in the 235/60/15 size. BTW when I say I liked the Firehawks it was relative term for price looks and use. Pontiacgp, yea summer compound.

this is all really good info. i'll look into some summer tires and i couldnt seem to find firehawks that were 235/60r15. and right now im running the stock wheels straight out of 1985'! but ill be getting new wheels soon and thats what these are for.
