Colorado? Last year I'd give ya a hard time too buddy. 😉 Like I said with 2020 I'm trying to turn a page and be more open minded lol. This Gbody is the first non mopar that's been in my name in sh*t 20+ years. Only reason I got it was because I was trying to fulfill a new years resolution I've had on repeat for a while and not be a 'Mopar or No Car' kind of guy. But this car was sentimental too because it reminded me of a car from my childhood. It's been fun tho..love driving it. I find that when I'm driving it I forget that it's old. Drives like a new car 🙂
No I'm down in new Mexico for the winter

Thanks Mike! Looks like you went all out if your signature is an indication of what you're dabbling in the Mopar world with. Loved my 12' Challenger SRT8 w/ a 392...I can only imagine what that few extra hundo ponies feels like. 🙂

BOP and chevy engines are all different. Keep that in mind when parts searching. Double check what parts look like, what gaskes look like, etc.

Thank you! Yea I've already learned that the hard way when I was replacing some gaskets. They asked which version I needed. Scratched my head for a few mins but glad I said give me all three and I'll return the one I don't need lol.

What I really like tho is I don't have to order things like I do my Mopar. The local auto parts shops have them and I don't have to pay gold prices. 🙂

Unfortunately, yes. There have been good parts come on the market for the Olds V8 but due to volume and competition, they are way more sbc or LS parts, cheaper. Dad was a life long Ford guy who went to GM and had good luck. Our Oldsmobile cars were head and shoulders more reliable than any of the other old junk we owned. Fast forward to now, GM makes nothing I want to own. We bought a 10 Stone White Challenger SXT with the garbage 3.5 motor, only reason we sold it. We traded it on a 17 Dodge Challenger GT AWD, best car we have ever owned. We even use it to tow are new Lund boat. Welcome!

Sh*t I thought that was only a mopar thing. 😉
yep anything older than the LS platform, be it BOP, caddy, or even old school sbc almost always have to be ordered. sh*t I had a hell of a time finding cam bearings for my 454. not a single parts store had them in stock and i needed them asap, had to go to the damn chevy dealer and pay $80. at this point you could replace every brick and mortar store with an ordering kiosk and nothing would change.
