Hi,

I guess this is my introduction post.

I just bought my first "G-body". It's a 1979 Malibu rolling chassis. It has a Ford 9" rear end (limited slip, 3.73:1 gears), and is set up with a Th400 crossmember and drive shaft. I have a warmed up SBC 350 and a TH400 to install into it.

For the most part, the body is clean. The passenger side floor is rotten, so I ordered a passenger side floor pan to replace it. I'll probably be posting some questions about these particular floor pans in the tech area.

So, I hope to learn a lot, and get this car out on the track this coming summer.

Welcome to the site. Nice looking Malibu. Good to see another one being saved. Lots of good people here who will be able to help. I see snow in the photo of your Malibu. If you don't mind me asking, where are you from? Are you in the great white north (Canada)?

Close, I'm in Michigan. I'm actually a suspension engineer at General Motors, so I'm naturally biased towards GM stuff, LOL.

Welcome - great looking car. Make it boogie

That shouldn't be a problem. With a minimal interior, no HVAC, lightweight hood, etc. I'm thinking it should be under 3000 lbs.

I got bored last fall and decided to build a motor, so I have this to push it along:

You have to be fairly close to me, I actually retired from GM. I've had good luck getting HP out of SBC's w/ little effort and money. What are you expecting out of yours?
