Welcome Scotty; I'm guessin' that you'll be 70 this year? You have put together my cousin car! As I also run a 406" SBC & had tried using a 700R-4. Run mid 12's & have a slopped rear window!. Of course your OE bumps were much nicer than mine. But now I'm on equal standing as I got rid of the big ugly chrome boat anchors. But the one thing that I noticed is you still have a V belt accessory set up. And I have a very nice V belt underdrive pulley set with belts that would fit your set up? These are cut from one piece of metal (billet if I spelled that correctly?). No run out , no flipped or tossed belts ever. Did I mentioned expensive? I ran these for many years, the crank pulley is 25% under drive & the water pump pulley is 8% underdrive. So together the water pump will be 33% under & the alternator & power steering will be at 25% under. The throttle response will be felt in the seat of your pants as they make a big difference. The down side is if you're in bumper to bumper traffic (think Power Tour) & the air temp is 97* for 3 hours they may not pump enough coolant to keep every thing cool. I seen temps reach 210* & was shutting off the engine & re starting often as 210 is as high as I want to see. Hence that's why I replaced them with 10% underdrive units & these are for sale with like new belts. The inside groove on the crank pulley is for AC. And they fit a long pump setup. If you're interested let me know. And again welcome, Ole' Bob.
