I am hoping you were aware of this before you bought them but if they are 16" x 8" which I believe is stock size for that year F-body the backspacing on those should be 6.875" which is just under 3" more than what usually fits on a G-body and because of this excessive backspace most G-body owners don't bother with F-body or Vette wheels because of the cost and hassle of adapters just to make them fit.

$200 for four 2" adapters + $125 for rims and tires < 4 new tires. Sounds like a deal to me.

1. Make sure the date code is not more than 10 years. Look for an oval near the bead with four digits. First two are the week, second two are the year. As long as they are not dry-rotted, you probably got a deal.
2. The adapters that thick bolt on and come with studs for your rims. These are safer than the spacers, and you don't have to change your wheel studs. Just make sure the studs on the adapters are fully seated - do the star pattern several times, drive gently for a few miles, then check them at least once more.

Would a 2" adaptor even be enough to work that would still leave you with 4.875" of backspace on an 8" wide rim.

I don't see how this is going to work and even if it does those rims really aren't that good looking on these cars. I have always been iffy on adapters.

I always do mock ups and measure for clearance issues to see what backspace and width wheel will fit being directly bolted on the axle without adapters or spacers, of coarse this limits your wheel options but I have always gone under the belief that you buy wheels to fit your car instead of trying to make your car fit the wheels.

I would say no, I had 16x8" inch rims that had a 4.5" BS with 245-50 tires and I had maybe 1/4 to 3/8" clearance between the tire and body.

I didn't measure, but they don't look like they are 8 inches wide maybe six or seven. I have to swap out a flat this week so I can test fit one then. I'll try to get some pics of the rims up this week if I can get home before dark, if not than I'll get some on Saturday.
