Nitro R/C cars

The last time it ran it went out of radio range at full throttle and hit a curb at around 40-45mph, so that's why it was put away the way it was. I was using it pretty regularly at the time, but with the driveshaft bent into a U from the impact, and the chassis now at a 45 degree angle, there was no way to run it. I never intended for it to sit this long, but other priorities and the closing of my favorite hobby shop (that stocked TA stuff) meant it didn't get done. Right now I am fixing it because I found the Trabant body, which sounds silly, but hey, it's a hobby right?

sounds like you could've used a fail-safe :x

Nobody is looking to buy an Micro RS4?

I had a BMW body on mine, but wanted the GMC sierra. but the receiver and ESC were mounted too high, the bed of the body would hit them. So I used that as an excuse to get the pan chasssis, Novak receiver, and battery pack  a hobby isn't a hobby if you don't put mojney into it!! well, most of the time

It's a fun hobby although it costs almost as much as building a real car 😀

Thats why i stick with building plastic model cars! Not near as fun 🙁 but also not near as spendy 🙂

I have an electric asscatied RC-10T never really got in to the nitro thing.
But *ss hard has i drove that i never broke it it is still a tough truck. maybe i should pull that thing out and us it. I also have road car a bolink 91 sport and some 4 wheel drive thing i stole from a kid that asked me to fix it but it was to far gone it is from the early 80s i think, its called a javilin i think.

Well, the NTC-3= broken stuff all the time. It is stupid fast if you are not really able to control it ( like me), or have a crappy transmitter ( like me), or it is cobbled together from a broken freebie that was fixed with the help of a BFH, a brick, my right foot, a paper clip and some JB Weld. Yes, I can make just about anything work with a big hammer and JB Weld! I am hoping it will now work properly with the aid of a bunch of new parts (including the chassis and transmitter). If you have never had one of these things and are trying to choose between gas and electric, go electric. Much easier to control and the electric motor is not as finicky as the gas 2 stroke diesel. It's also less messy and you can use it indoors. Mine would oil down the carpet in no time if I were to run it in the house!

It Ran! It Drove! Now it won't start again! I got it to restart a few times, but the throttle was too open and had to shut it down as it would not throttle down for some reason. Grr! This thing is more picky than any real car I have ever messed with!

Well, after a carb tuning session that comes close to what I would spend on a Quadrajet, it runs pretty good. I think I put 4 hours into it today and tonight getting it to run properly again, and I still have a little bit of work left to go. I also set the alignment on it by using the TA alignment tools and using the NTC3-v2 of a friend (the same one who gave me my NTC3-v1) to figure out where to set it. Mine was WAY off. I now have to figure out why it likes to stall out on me and is hard to start sometimes (won't stay running). I also installed a failsafe, new batteries, a new antenna straw, and new body clips. I spent $35 today! Yikes! On a toy! Pics to come shortly. 🙂

my t-maxx used to do that check your glow plug, mine went away after I changed to a hotter O.S plug
