Nitro R/C cars

The glow plug is fine, I checked it already. The issue was that I mistook the low speed jet for setscrew and tightened it all the way in. Once I figured out what I had done, I backed it out but it took a while to get it close to where it should be. I also had the high speed jet housing come a little loose, and it is also a banjo fitting for the fuel line, so it was leaning out from that as well. It still has a hard time priming the fuel line when I go to start it, so I prime the carb with nitro first, then set the throttle trim on max in order to start it. This way, it gets enough exhaust pressure to prime it before it dies, and it stays running. I start it on a piece of 2x6 with the wheels off the ground so that if it idles too high at first it can't go anywhere. Then I give it about 30 seconds to build heat before I drop the trim.

My other issue was that it likes to push (understeer) when turning at high speed on old pavement (on freshly tarred pavement it does awesome drifts!). Some of that is that the front tires are harder than the rear as I used what I had to get it going. Some of it may also be the alignment, but i haven't driven it since I set it last night. I ordered new wheels and tires for it that are wider than stock, but they are coming from Australia so it will probably be another week before I get them.

cool take some pics, any luck with your little german car body

Well, it turns out it probably won't work...which sux when you figure it out AFTER you buy it. There are several 1:10 wheelbases. I thought because the NTC3 is a 200mm car it meant the wheelbase. It doesn't. It's the track width. I finally found the PDF of the owner's manual, and it's really a 258mm wheelbase on the NTC3. So, it won't fit and I wasted money. It's my fault though, and not the seller's. He listed the dimensions and I didn't do my research. I had forgotten my lesson from doing this once before with a Datsun PL510 body. I dunno. I guess I'll eventually try to find a 200mm 1:10 car to use the bodies on. As for now, I have a very beat up BMW E46 3 series body I am using, and I also have the original Dodge Stratus (I have no idea why they chose it!) body.

Here are some pics of my Team Associated Nitro NTC3, and the two bodies I have. One is the original body, which is a Dodge Stratus...talk about an uncool car! The other is my beat up BMW E46 that was on it when I ran into the curb at the local Walmart during Christmas 2 years ago.

I got both bodies for free when I got the car, and the BMW one WAS mint. So, I am in no way complaining. I even got the fuel bottle, the leftover nitro and the radio (with a broken steering trim). It was a nice gift from a good friend. I have fixed everything that was wrong with it now (new radio, etc.), and it's a lot of fun until I wreck it again. The car also has mismatched tires and wheels on it with the fronts being solid rubber and the rears are sponge filled and softer. I broke a wheel on it when I hit something and bought the cheapest/closest thing I could find. I am thinking about trying the front tires on the back and vice versa so that it will drift better. Right now it understeers at full speed.
