did you check the vacume hose?

Was it installed using the original (to the car) lockup wiring? If yes, what carb is on it?

If an OE computer carb, does the check engine lamp work?

Really need the whole layout before a reasonable diagnostic path presents itself,,,,unless the parts-shotgunning approach is preferred.

likely the solenoid is starting to go. Less than $40 at the auto parts store.

x2 and easy to change

Yes, but usually very messy!

the set up is as follows a complete 5..7 e.f.i. swap from a buick roadmaster (t b i ) 200-r4 complete wiring harness all sesors ect ect tilt cruise 6 way leather seats from a buick limited everything works EXCEPT THE FRIGGING LOCK UP sorry had to vent lol all my past experience is when the tccs goes bad it usually will not disengage mine will not go into lockup it does have power to a green wire at the trans thanks for the replies yall 8)

Sorry, I'm no help on the TBI setup.

FWIW, on the carb versions, a bad TPS will prevent lockup, but I have no idea if the TBI are similar.
