I notice that you also have the Euro sidemarker lights on your front fenders. Here's a thread started from a new member from France with a nice Malibu wagon. We also discussed taillights. His car has the European taillights and a few changes in the overall lighting. viewtopic.php?f=24&t=35846
I'll get you a picture of my bumper. It still has chrome on it, no rubber strip, no taillights. It might have a small dent on it...and no rust through. 😀

welcome to the site, and nice wagon. if i remember correctly the 350 diesel block is a good one to convert over to gas and be used as a racing motor. im not 100% on that but im sure someone will chime in. more pics please!
This is true Beer.....because of the higher nickle content and bigger main bearing journals.

Ah yes, forgot about those lights. The rules says something about the turn signals on the side must be visible from a minimum stated angle, hence the retrofitted "bulging" turn signals.

All cars made before 1972 does not require any alterations and is approved as is. Love my country, but we have a serious bureaucracy issue. Not a particulary car friendly nation, but we make do.

And thanks for the link. That was spot on. As he also wrote, small US-sized plates are only available in Norway for those who knows someone, or says the right words. Some kind of magic trick. I keep seeing new Porsche SUVs with small plates, but as an american car owner trying to get new, small plates - fat chance. So I just ordered an immitation in the right size that I use at the back. Better to ask forgiveness than permission 😉

I assume that the Norwegian rules are similar to the French laws in a sense concerning lighting. Does the side markers also function as a turnsignal light, and should the rear side markers be converted to either clear or amber?

I like your license plate solution...better ask for forgiveness than permission..
I'll get a few pics of the bumper tomorrow.

The rear side markers must be amber in Norway. None are installed on my car, but it will happen after some rust removal. Would like red, but I don't think I'm gonna chance that in this particular instance.

Anyone able to tell what trim moulding pieces i'm missing from the sides of my car?

From the picture you can see that I only have one high horizontal line, that is clearly missing some pieces at the end(s). Both sides are identical as the one visible.

And, beeing an original diesel, it had a "Diesel" hood ornament. What kind did the gasoline have? Now it has one of these.

Here's a picture of my friends Cutlass Cruiser. His is a little newer than yours, but it will give you an idea regarding side trim.
