Octane booster?

yes, if you want or have to use the wrong octane fuel in your car, then booster will help. of course you don't know what else the booster might do or how long it will last. it may create major carbon deposits or last for only a few days (which has been known to happen). i'd rather just use the right stuff in my car and not worry about it.
my point was that if you have the proper fuel in your car and the engine is tuned correctly, then booster won't help.

98 Mustang's are slow turds, unless that thing has a much of mods, you won't have a problem with it. My 89 Firebird 305 TBI 700R4 with the stock 2.73 open rear would take them

octane booster does what it says,,, it boosts the octane level in the gas that you are putting in. If you are using 87 octane, by adding the octane booster it will give you a few points more. Using a fuel with a higher octane lets an engine run at a higher compression ratio without having problems with knock. And what i meant by "cheap gas" I didn't mean inexpensive, i meant gas that you buy at a convienence store compared to a Sunoco or Exxon.

take a look at the gear ratios between the 200 4r and 700 r4..the reason I suggested to get rid of the 700 r4 for drag racing is because of the steep drop the 700 has between 1st and 2nd gears.....if you read up on the difference between the 2 you get better times in a 1/4 mile with the 200 4r

2004R 2.74 1.57 1 0.67
700R4 3.06 1.63 1 0.7

octane rating is only a measurement of the fuels resistance to detonation. if your car is not experiencing detonation, or "spark knock" then there is no need for higher octane. it will not improve the performance of your car.

higher octane fuel resists detonation and burns SLOWER... if your engine isnt designed for high octane fuels (high compression...forced induction etc) it actually makes LESS power than regular fuel. if a car isnt pinging or knocking on reg fuel...boosting the octane isnt gonna do anything but drain your wallet.
