While poking under my hood, I noticed that the last time my carburetor was off I forgot to plug the choke heater wire in when I put it back. It's been running like that for about a year, but since I'm in a fairly warm climate it's never been a problem. I plugged it back in anyway and the first time I drove it the Oil/Choke light came on twice, for about 10-15 seconds each time. It came on when I had been on the highway and went onto an exit ramp and let up completely off the throttle. The light went off when I started pressing the accelerator again. Any ideas?

Have you checked your oil?

Yeah, I just had it inspected (and passed!) so I don't need to worry about "emissions equipment" being hooked up any more.

I'd check to see if it's opening all the way but for some reason my wife doesn't want to sit in the engine bay while I'm on the highway.

It might be the oil pressure sensor. There are 2 of them on it the driver side head and one on the back of the block. One runs the light the other the oil pressure gauge.

Well it hasn't happened again so I figure it was just the choke sensor not being used to the hookup or something...

No problem, no worry.
