something like that happened to me too and it was the oil pressure switch that crack.

You said you did rear main seal on the engine, did you do the front pump seal on the transmission??
Also you neglected to say what color the oil was.

What year Monte? RH or LH dipstick?
If it has the 2 piece rear main, did it really get changed? You need to drop the pan and rear main cap to do it.
on SBC, likely culprits are valve covers, oil sender, rear joint where the intake manifold meets the block, and the real lip seal on the oil pan itself. If they did a shoddy job of R&R'ing the rear main, the pan lip would be my first guess. No one can guess for you, yer gonna have to get grubby and start looking for the leak. There is nothing else behind the engine to leak so check the spots I listed above.

thx yall for the advice and some 411 on the oil its clean fresh oil they re did my transmission had a shop do it so all the gaskets on the transmission are new and the rear main seal was switched out watched the guy do it so idk where it would be coming from not only that my engine is losing ALOT of power because of the oil spilling could it be the valve covers and the oil dip stick is on the right hand side (the passengers side) so maybe it could be leaking from the or the valve covers i dnt think its the head gasket because theres no anitfreeze spilling or in my oil

should i take the plastic guard of the fly wheel would i be able to see it from there???

You might be able to see it from there, I was trying to find out if you have the earlier 2 piece rear seal or the later one piece rear seal. IS the oil spraying out, dripping, gushing what? You're not telling us what we need to know to help much more.
There is also a dye that can be added to the oil that will show up under a black light, Shops usually charge a steep price for the service of finding a leak, the dye isn't that expensive and you can get the black light bulbs where they sell them fuzzy dope head posters that glow in the dark.
There is no oil transfer through the head gasket on a chevy, under pressure anyway, only the return path from the valve covers.
A valve cover can leak a lot of oil in a short time.
