Got a 78 century wagon with a 305. I want to put aftermarket gauges in in lieu of idiot lights Where is an oil pressure port to install a direct reading gauge. Is the only one available by the distributor. Pain in the butt to get to. I’m a ford guy from way back and they are normally by the oil filter. Nothing by the filter as far as I can see. No fords left just my wife’s fathers only new car he ever bought going thru the 2nd restoration after my kids made a mess of the first restoration.

If it has a second oil port it is right above the oil filter.

You can add a sandwich adapter (normally for coolers) to the filter and put the sensor in that if necessary.

That's correct. I usually T off the one by the China wall on the driver's side.

If you do go with a analog gage make sure to use the copper line. The plastic nylon line can break and you will have full pressure of hot oil coming into the cabin.
