oil psi question

i have a chevy 383 with a stock oil pump and at idle its 20 and 50 wen driving 70 at hard ex.

Your oil pressure will also depend on what grade engine oil you are using. A lighter multi grade oil will thin some as the oil temp raises, like, say a 10W30. A 15w40, will not thin out as much, giving you a slightly higher oil pres. reading. I have always preferred the 15W40, which is my personal preference. I'm sure others will have different opinions, but that's what a forum is for. ..............mickey-d :lol:
