If anybody has this setup, I need a pic or diagra m or something of how the Detent cable/ throttle cable looks after install. My brackets are off a 307 4v and the original off the 350, which appears to be missing the part that holds the trans shift cable. I know that MR Gasket sells an adjustable tv cable bracket, which I am considering, but I just wanted to see what it looks like after its all put together. Thanks!

I was looking into a 2bbl setup as well until I decided to yank the 305.

The parts I was considering were Spectre

I don't know how much you know about this swap, but this link is worth reading. http://www.tciauto.com/Products/Instruc ... adjust.htm

Your biggest challenge will be getting the correct adjustment on the TV cable

Thanks!
Im not too worried about the TV cable, my main concern is the throttle cable length. But this looks pretty good for what I need. What is the bracket for the 700r4 for? Just curious...

I think I was looking at that bracket on Jegs or elsewhere and the manufacturer (Spectre) says that other piece is needed for 700r4/2004r swaps.

UPDATE.... For anybody whos using a stock 2bbl manifold and carb set up, these wont work on a Gbody because the throttle cable is too short. They probably mean stock 85 2bbl carbs when they say it will fit 2/4bbl applications.

Not enough adjustment in the brackets? What about a throttle cable from something that came with a dual jet? I'll cross reference that cable with something that would've come with the older 2GC carb. If it gives me the lengths it will tell the difference.

I checked a bunch of part numbers and the lengths. I looked at dual jet Buick V6's, 2GC carbed 260's, 305's.
Also checked 305's and 307's that would've had an OD trans. All the Dorman PN's say 23.625" long. The ATP PN's are all 22.75 or 23.5".

I even looked at an earlier '76 Cutlass and they're slightly shorter. Is there something we're missing here or is the bracket just not living up to it's purpose?

I just swapped a Holley 650 on my 305 and bought that bracket. I could not get it to work as it moves the cable back further then the factory mount. I figure you could make a adapter that would bolt onto the carb linkage to move the carb linkage mounting point back far enough to match the factory specs. JMOthough
