We had an '83 Chrysler LeBaron Town & Country Wagon (the top of the line K-car :lol🙂 and it would play audio warnings like "a door is ajar" and "don't forget your keys" as well as several others.

Same here. Actually for my alarm system, which is a Viper system, I have purchased a voice module. The purpose is to use it for the warning tone. I plan on recording DMX's voice into it "Protected by Viper, stand back!" along with a few more lyrics at the end. Then when someone trips my motion sensor real close, they'll get an ear full of DMX hahaha.
