I still need to get pictures of it, spent most of the weekend moving cars around. will be going to try and get a home loan today so trying to get a little prepared. I tell you what moving all these cars is going to be interesting

back a few years ago i got to replace the timing components on one of these diesels and when i put it back together the timing was just perfect and it had no problems staying up with traffic but diesel parts cost three times more than gasoline parts but the last a lot longer.

Finally got some pictures of the car

Think I am going to take the small bit of time it will take and pull the heads off and put ARP studs in it while I have the chance just so later down the line I don't have to worry about the head gaskets. The trick is going to be getting everything cleaned out so I can see if the thing will even fire.

The first pic of the DX gas converted 350 was when the engine was first built. This is what is looked like when I bought it, and how it looks now. It came out of a 78 Cadillac. It has an A4 aluminum intake, and I think 5A heads that has been fixed to to sit on the 350. I will check it to be certain about the heads.

The 5A would bolt right on and give high 9 to 1 compression.

Let me check the heads while I'm in the yard. Correction they are 3A smogger heads. He did however mention the compression, but I don't remember what it was. He did the work, and said he'd worked and built Olds engines for 30 years and now owns and operates his own computer tech company.

Does anyone have an injection pump laying around from one of these diesels? I attempted to start the car yesterday and could get it to fire on starting fluid but other then that it wont run on its own. Its getting fuel to the new filter I put on it so I suspect the injection pump and I have not found a source for them anywhere online

check for fuel coming out of fuel filter or to injection pump. i remember changing a filter on one of these many years ago, and it took forever and a day to clear the air from the system and get the engine to run.
