It happened on the original fuel line at the carburetor. Then when the replacement arrived in the mail, it took a whole weekend with ratchet straps prying and pulling to get everything to line up (barely) to thread back together.
Works the first time if the line is perfectly bent and is the perfect length. Otherwise it's hours upon hours, and there's no room to work.
Looks like maybe the solution is to put the short Chevy filter and housing/adapters on with the braided line kits. Would prefer to keep the original parts and long filter though. I'm pretty firm on NOT changing things too much, because before too long you have no idea what you changed or what to get if you need a part again. There's only so much you can keep spares of.
