I was thinking of shaving the tailights and the cut out where the tag is. Here is a quick photoshop of what it might look like.

1) do you REALLY want the cops up your *ss? if not, then where will you drive it? cars are supposed to be driven. on the road or on the track, it doesn't matter but it has to be one of them.
2)(part of #1) how do you plan on keeping grandma from turning the trunk into an accordian? or mount the plate? it's gonna look mighty stupid glued in your rear window.
3)if you do it you really have to get rid of ALL the seams and lines. otherwise it looks like you just painted over the lights.
4)FUGLY!!!

1)This is my second car that i drive very little, its just my fun car. Cops in my area always give me a hard time in my cars cause they are attention grabbing cars and im 6'3 260lbs and tatted up. So you guess someones first opinion of me :x
2)I plan on using an LED the lenght of the back window in the window. The tag will drop down under the bumper using air cylinders, tapped in to the air ride.
3) The taillights will be molded to the taillight filler so there are no seams
4)Thanks

I got the idea off of laureneng.com but i didnt like the zr1 lights in the bumper and thought getting rid of the tag hole would let it flow alittle

double check your local laws. i'm pretty sure that you will need 2 brake lights mounted at the sides of the rear and possibly the 3rd light too. you will also need distinct turn signals and marker lights.
nothing personal, if i'm gonna give my opinion it's gonna be my honest opinion. i do/did not mean to offend. it is of course your car and you should do what you like.

removing the taillights from there position leaves to much of a void. what I would do is have your existing tail lights sprayed the color of your car and where the light from the bulb is, have a bowtie design for the light to emit from and use either a really red bulb or a red led for the light. another option is to use nightshades (taillight paint resembles black outs) that would go good with a silver/gray car. that is my 2cents worth.
on my cutllas they didn't offer anything for the tail lights so what i did when i wanted clear lenses I removed the red lens and took light covers (the ones you see in schools or offices covering flourescent light) cut the cover and made my own clear tail lights. but a monte would need additional work to make that work. I also did my side markers the same way. and installed colored bulbs.just a idea
